Hospitality to guests is a venerable Benedictine tradition. We have a small guesthouse on the monastic property,
at a little distance from the monasteries and the church. The
guesthouse is managed jointly by the monks and by the nuns of
St. Scholastica Priory. |
|
|
|
Our guesthouse is mainly for individuals who wish to spend some time outside their usual environment and to benefit from contact with a praying community in an atmosphere of silence.
We sometimes allow groups to use our guesthouse. We ask
such groups to respect the privacy of other guests, and to include
in their schedule some participation in the monastic liturgy.
Groups are limited to 12, including team members.
|
|
We like our guests to join us for at least one service in the church each day, either Mass or a part of the Liturgy of the Hours. Books with which you can follow the hours of the Divine Office and the chants of the Mass are available in the vestibule of the church with the guestmaster or guestmistress to assist you.

Lunch is the main meal of the day at our monasteries. Male guests eat lunch with the monks, and women eat lunch at St. Scholastica Priory. Food is available at the guesthouse for a casual supper. We provide linens and towels, and a washer and dryer is available. We have one double and 11 single rooms, with shared baths. |
We don't ask any payment from our guests, but we gladly accept any donation a guest may wish to make. If a group comes, however, the organizer of the group should arrange to cover the cost of feeding and housing the group.
